A Season Made For Photos

T'is the season to be jolly, Christmas trees that tower over people with love, as the sun fades the night brightens with an ocean of stars along with Christmas lights that twinkle simultaneously. the time of year that brings families together that may have been apart for most of it. Tis is the beautiful season of Christmas and there is no better way to remember it than capturing with a camera where it becomes a forever memory.

Christmas Tree

A Christmas tree photo is a staple in any Christmas photo montage. Not only is the Christmas tree iconic it also has a long standing history as tradition created in the 16th century Germany where the citizens would put their trees up on the 24th of December.

The best Christmas tree shot is a low angle shot as it looks like the Christmas tree is towering over the person viewing the photo. Capture the side that is most decorated along with a night time shot when the Christmas ornament lights are at their brightest

Experiment with a few angles and get creative with selectively incorporating background visuals that may enhance the overall photo.

Christmas Moon

A December moon is specially known as the "Cold Moon" with is attributed to the cold nights in the northern hemisphere. The moon looks extra special with the aura and magic of Christmas in the air. The idea of capturing this special moment makes perfect sense.

In this shot there is more than what meets the eye, we don't have control of where the moon will be in the night sky and whether the interacting object will line up perfectly. Much like the existence of Santa Clause this photo is not quite real but is a mixture of two photos combined in photoshop.

Christmas Lights

Although Thomas Edison invented the lightbulb in 1879, a few year later it was his business partner who had the lightbulb moment to hang a string of coloured lights on a Christmas tree and the rest is history. Nothing brightens up Christmas more than coloured lights visually communicating with each other. The creative edits here are endless which makes Christmas lights in photos/videos extra special.

Food Festivities

Christmas food family whether it's chestnuts roasting on an open fire, the Christmas turkey wrapped with cranberry sauce , or the fruit platter that comes together to form a Christmas tree. Each Christmas food spread has it's own unique touch making every food montage special to create and share.

With the cheese plater I experimented with shadows to add further character and intrigue to the overall photo.

This video was created in Davinci Resolve, each scene is an individual photo where "key frames" was used to create as smooth panning motion on each scene.

Thank you for your time and effort :)
